Time Tracker for Windows
A one-tap time tracker for your Windows PC, right in your browser
There is no TickTappy download for Windows, and you do not need one. TickTappy runs in Edge, Chrome or Firefox on Windows 10 and 11: open ticktappy.com, tap a colored tag to start a timer, and tap it again to stop. No account, no installer and no admin rights. Your entries are saved in that browser on that PC, and the day and week totals are worked out there too.
Free; Premium (cloud sync and backup) $9.99/year or $29.99 once
iPhone, iPad, Mac (Apple silicon), Apple Watch, web, Chrome extension; not on Google Play yet
Checked on 22 October 2026.
A tab, an app window, or Chrome's side panel
In a tab: open ticktappy.com in Edge, Chrome or Firefox and start tracking. There is nothing to install.
As an app window: Chrome and Edge can install ticktappy.com as an app from their menus. It then opens in its own window and can be pinned to the taskbar like any other program. It is the same web app in its own window, not a separate Windows program.
In Chrome's side panel: the TickTappy extension for Chrome opens the web app in a panel beside the page you are working on.
Where your hours are stored on a PC
Entries live in the browser's own storage, on that PC and in that browser profile. Edge and Chrome on the same PC keep separate copies, and so do two Windows user accounts. Clearing the browser's cookies and site data for ticktappy.com deletes them, and an InPrivate or Incognito window forgets them when it closes.
If you want a second copy, or the same entries on your phone, that is what Premium is for: cloud sync and backup for $9.99 a year or $29.99 once. Everything else on this page is free.
What it does not do on Windows - honestly
There is no native Windows program. It needs a connection to open: the page and the installed app window both load from ticktappy.com. Once it is open, a running timer keeps counting and a stop is saved without a connection, because the entries are written in the browser.
It does not watch what you do. Nothing records your apps, windows or websites; you tap to start and tap to stop. There is no CSV or PDF export, so totals are read in the app or shared as an image, and there are no team features, approvals or invoicing.

How other time trackers compare
•
Toggl — has a Windows desktop app with one-click timers that syncs time tracked offline once it reconnects, per its Windows page (toggl.com/apps/desktop/windows, checked 2026-11-06); you need a Toggl account
•
Clockify — has a free Windows desktop app built around teams and projects (clockify.me/windows-time-tracking, checked 2026-11-06); you need an account
•
ManicTime — a Windows program that records the apps, websites and documents you use automatically, instead of a timer you start (manictime.com/download/windows, checked 2026-11-06)
FAQ
Is there a TickTappy app for Windows?
Not a native one. TickTappy runs in Edge, Chrome or Firefox on Windows 10 and 11, and Chrome and Edge can install it as an app window that you can pin to the taskbar. There is also an extension that opens it in Chrome's side panel.
Does TickTappy work offline on a Windows PC?
Partly. Once ticktappy.com is open, timers keep counting and stops are saved without a connection, because entries are stored in the browser. Opening it, including the installed app window, needs a connection.
Where are my hours stored on Windows?
In the browser you track in, on that PC. Edge and Chrome keep separate copies, and clearing the browser's site data deletes them. Premium ($9.99 a year or $29.99 once) adds cloud sync and backup, so a copy lives in your account and on your other devices.
