TickTappy ("the App") is a one-tap time tracking app available on iOS, Android, macOS, and the web. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary
•
Offline-first: Your time tracking data is stored locally on your device by default.
•
Optional account & sync: If you sign in and use cloud features (such as sync), your data is stored in our backend to sync across devices.
•
No ads / no selling data: We do not sell your personal information and we do not run third-party ads in the App.
•
Subscriptions: If you purchase Premium, subscription status is handled via our payments/subscription providers (e.g., App Store/RevenueCat).
1) Information we collect
A. Information you provide (time tracking content)
The App lets you create and manage:
•
Tags (names, colors, settings like reminders)
•
Time entries (start/end times, pinned state)
•
User settings (e.g., theme, week start day, day start hour)
This information may reflect personal routines or work patterns depending on what you enter.
B. Account information (if you create an account / sign in)
If you choose to sign in, we collect and process:
•
Email address (for email/password login)
•
Authentication data needed to maintain your session
•
If you use Google sign-in, we receive identifiers and basic account information necessary to authenticate you (as provided through the sign-in flow)
We do not need or want access to your Google password.
C. Subscription and purchase information (Premium)
If you purchase Premium:
•
Your purchase is processed by the relevant app store or payment provider.
•
We (and/or our subscription provider) may receive subscription status and related metadata (e.g., whether you are subscribed, product identifiers, purchase/renewal dates) to unlock Premium features.
Payment card details are handled by the payment processor (e.g., Apple/App Store, Google Play, Stripe on web) rather than stored directly by us.
D. Usage data and diagnostics (analytics)
We may collect limited usage analytics to understand what features are used and to improve the App. For example, the project includes analytics via Umami.
Depending on platform and configuration, analytics data can include:
•
App events (e.g., screens viewed, feature interactions)
•
Device/app information (e.g., app version, OS version)
•
Approximate network information (e.g., IP address) - typically needed for security and basic analytics on web services
We do not use analytics data to show third-party ads.
E. Information we do not intentionally collect
TickTappy does not require access to:
•
Your photos/media library
If you believe the App is collecting something unexpectedly, contact us at the address above.
2) How we use your information
We use information to:
•
Provide core functionality (time tracking, summaries, widgets/watch experiences)
•
Save your data on your device and keep it available offline
•
If you sign in and use cloud features, sync your tags/entries/settings across devices
•
Maintain your account and authenticate you
•
Process subscriptions and determine Premium entitlement
•
Provide customer support and respond to requests
•
Improve reliability, performance, and user experience (including through analytics)
•
Protect against abuse, fraud, or security incidents
3) How your data is stored
Local (on-device) storage
By default, TickTappy stores your data locally on your device (e.g., SQLite on mobile/desktop; IndexedDB on web).
Cloud storage (if you use cloud features)
If you sign in and use cloud features (such as sync), your data is stored in our backend (e.g., Supabase/Postgres) to support syncing and real-time updates across devices.
Offline to account migration
If you start using the App offline and later sign in, the App may offer options to:
•
transfer offline data to your account,
•
keep local data for use when logged out, or
•
delete local data and start fresh.
(Exact options depend on the app version and configuration.)
4) When we share your information
We share information only as needed to run the service, including:
Service providers (processors)
We use third-party services to provide infrastructure and features. Depending on your platform and what you use in the App, these can include:
•
Backend/auth/database/sync (e.g., Supabase)
•
Subscription management (e.g., RevenueCat)
•
Payments (e.g., Apple App Store / Google Play; Stripe for web purchases)
•
Analytics (e.g., Umami, if enabled/configured)
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policies.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe it's reasonably necessary to:
•
comply with law, regulation, or legal process,
•
enforce our terms and policies,
•
protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or others.
Business transfers
If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take steps to ensure continued protection of your information.
5) Data retention
•
Local data remains on your device until you delete it (e.g., delete entries, clear data, or uninstall the App).
•
Cloud data (if you use cloud features) is retained while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service.
You can delete your account and associated cloud data at any time from Settings within the App (see "Your choices" below).
6) Your choices and controls
Depending on your platform and app version, you can:
•
Create and use the App offline without signing in
•
Edit or delete tags and time entries
•
Archive tags (which preserves history)
•
Clear local data (via app settings, if available)
•
Delete your account and all associated cloud data directly from Settings within the App
If you request deletion, we may retain limited information as required for legal, tax, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes (e.g., transaction records for subscriptions).
7) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) International data transfers
If you use cloud features, your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, depending on where we and our service providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
9) Children's privacy
TickTappy is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the App or on our website.
